UK Plan To Ban Electronic Disposable Vapes

Healthy News

In recent UK news, there has been a lot of talk about electronic vapes. In October, the government announced adding a new tax on vapes. This would’ve been called the vape tax. However, they have also proposed a ban on electronic vapes. The plan is to completely get rid of smoking tobacco in the UK.

Smoking bans will also be implemented to combat the ongoing issue in the UK. One of those issues is that there are young teenagers currently smoking vapes because of their unique flavourings. Furthermore, disposable vapes are becoming more of an issue for litter.

The government is also looking at imposing tighter restrictions on packaging. Again, this is to put teenagers off from smoking them. Additional restrictions will be made on the type of flavours to make them less appealing to the younger generation.

The Backlash

The government announced those who were born after 2009 can no longer smoke. This will be linked to the same bill for the new vaping laws which they are putting in place.

There is a discussion that some conservative MPs will be voting against these laws. Additionally, Liz Truss has said that these laws are “profoundly unconservative”. Smoking isn’t good for the human body. Smoking causes one in four cancer deaths.

What Does The Prime Minister Have To Say?

Sunak responded to Liz Truss’s comments by saying “I don’t think there is anything unconservative about caring about our children’s health”.

Rishi Sunak has continued to say that this is a plan for the long-term and changing future laws for smoking.

The prime minister has been questioned a lot about these new laws he is looking to impose. The UK prime minister said: “ There has been a long tradition in parliament of these being free votes, which aren’t a party political, people will have their own held views on that, that’s the same as it’s been in the past.”

The Response From The Public

Many people have briefly discussed the ban the government is looking to impose; however, little has been said so far. One thing you can be sure of is that those who are working in the industry will have something to say. There have been many new businesses because of electronic vapes which have been successful. However, with the ban on disposable vapes, a lot of corner shops and vape shops will lose business and revenue. They will have to look at other alternatives.

Final Opinions: What Does It Mean For Those Who Are Looking To Quit Smoking

One of the biggest issues with this is that those who are aiming to quit smoking by using a vape will no longer be able to. This means they will either have to go back to smoking or try other methods to quit.

There are many ways you can quit smoking such as therapy, using nicotine patches or nicopods. However, vapes have been very successful in helping people quit smoking. They not only give them the nicotine which they want but also get to put something similar to a cigarette in their mouth. Additionally, they get to inhale and exhale stale.

Velo pouches are something else that are becoming far more popular and these could be the new vapes for the UK. Flavoured nicotine pods are already being sold in the UK and have been for a few years now.
